Video game graphics are good indicators that technology is evolving at a rapid pace. Back in the 80s, early pixelated sprites were enough to entertain us, and we could agree that those simple games were addicting. And we are over the moon when Final Fantasy games go from cartoonish SD representations, to colorful and detailed character renderings. The blocky Final Fantasy VII graphics had gained faithful admirers when it was first released, and the recent character designs basically defeated the uncanny valley.
